About Me
My Background
Born in California and raised in Florida, I graduated from Winter Park High School before pursuing my undergraduate degree at the University of Central Florida, where I majored in Philosophy and Liberal Studies. During this period, I actively assisted my father in managing his professional photography business, primarily catering to commercial annual reports and businesses' imaging needs.
After a brief hiatus from academic pursuits, I successfully operated a professional handyman business. However, my passion for knowledge and information led me to Tampa, FL, where I embarked on my graduate degree in Library and Information Science. The countless hours spent in the public library during my childhood, heavily influenced by my mother's ardent love for reading and support for libraries, left a lasting impression on me.
Subsequently, I dedicated years to working at the Delray Beach Public Library in South Florida, specializing in Reference and Information Services, with a particular focus on Small Business Research. Being part of the community and making a difference, I found great fulfillment in assisting patrons and small business owners with their diverse information needs.
My Experience
From that specialization, I ended up joining a unique group of local entrepreneurs and embarked on an exciting journey to help build their startup, Delivery Dudes, a pioneering 3rd party delivery service that foreshadowed the success of well-known companies like DoorDash, UberEats, and Grubhub. Throughout the years, we tirelessly honed and perfected our business model, thoroughly enjoying every moment of the process. Eventually, in 2021, we successfully sold the company to a purchasing firm.
My experience with The Dudes holds a special place in my heart, as it allowed me to forge incredible friendships and gain invaluable real-world business experience, which I often fondly refer to as my "3rd degree." The thrill of being part of a startup and witnessing its growth and ultimate success has been both fulfilling and enlightening.
Currently
Starting from mid-2021, I took on the mantle of overseeing the team and operations of Delivery Dudes after its founders departed from the purchasing company. I held full responsibility for running the business throughout the rest of 2021 and 2022, ensuring its smooth functioning during the transition phase until it adopted its new brand and operating system.
As for 2023, I have decided to prioritize spending precious moments with my family, embarking on enriching travel experiences, exploring personal ventures, and refocusing my goals.
